Carlos Rodriguez - Central Valley Report

Last night’s Twitter coverage of the manhunt of the 5 double homicide suspects was amazing! Carlos Rodriguez of the Central Valley Report (@CVRTVNews) broke the story sometime around midnight and covered it continuously with photos until late in the morning. By the time morning rolled around there were accounts on Twitter from all over the manhunt area about what local citizens had experienced.

These criminals who shot two innocent victims to death from their vehicle sped away into the Village One area. They terrorized our communities citizens in the middle of the night, trying to break into homes to hide, climbing on rooftops, brandishing firearms, shooting at police. @CVRTVNews was on scene letting people know via Twitter where the cops were and where the suspects were thought to be.

This kind of live reporting on Twitter was invaluable and is a testament to the power of Twitter. @CVRTVNews was able to help keep citizens informed and safe, giving them the opportunity to contact friends and family in the area that may not have been using Twitter, letting them know about these dangerous people.

Keep up the great work Carlos!
