instead of fighting with cross-browser compatibility, I found apple's css does a great job. On many of their pages you can view the source and then grab the css. It looks like they spent a lot of time creating classes that will adjust the padding, margins, and other little quirks of most browsers to create a more uniform look. At any rate it is a good starting point.

It's just that Apple caters to a large windows audience, they realize they need to pick up the slack for people who use non-standards compliant browsers like Internet Explorer. True, and as much as i hate to defend MS... Most browsers do not pass ACID 3.
