Mistlin Gallery, aka Central California Art Association has hit the news with major financila problems, will be moving, but the Art and Wine Festival August 15 is still on the schedule, and sign ups for festival are due at July 15, open to nonmembers, you’ll need some jpgs on cd for submission to be sure to be in if you’ve not done it before. They have a deposit check, that if you follow the rules, comes back to you uncashed, sort of clumsy deal, but idea is to be sure you stay all day. http://www.myspace.com/modestoartx has details, and I can email you wiht the entry form, mercenary_graphics@yahoo.com if actually interested. I made money last year at it, and if it works out for you, its free ultimately to enter. I posted a wire on this also, more detail. I’m just a member, don’t have any say how its set up, etc, even though i help set up modesto blues festival.

Modesto Farmer’s Market board will decide this week if another Art Annex Fair added on for a Saturday in late August. If so, second year they’ve added a June and August artist vendor day to their schedule. 10 x 10 booths set up in the library parking lot, you set up by 6:30 am, usually crowd arrives by 7 am goes to noon. I’ve done ok at this, and will post if it actually has sign ups. Layout allows for 16 spots, and you can share a spot with other artists. Usually fee is $30 for spot per art event for artists. Regular vendors have a different space rate.

Just a note I joined art group here.  Modesto Blues Festival has an art venue at Mellis park during the festival, and our beneficiary this year is peer recovery art project.  I’m in my third year now of setting up art walk spots and exhibiting artiist.
